Y+M house, located in the protected historic village set in the nothern mountains of Seville, appears as a challenge to bring both; the Andalusian architectural tradition and the domestic interests of a homeowner with American-Japanese culture.
Given the small size of the site, the house is clearly divided into two rooms; night-day , on one hand, the ground floor for servants and on the other hand, the first floor with a large multifunctional room, which uses the city center views. As a background scene, the sculptural stairs connects both spaces.
From the outside the building shows luminous and really clear in a necessary dialogue with the environment.
However, from the inside the natural treatment of the materials and the lighting make of its open spaces a praise of shadow.
